A number of top 2009 academic and vocational students were awarded yesterday for their outstanding performances when the Ministry of Education held its annual National Award Ceremony for Outstanding Performance.
The award ceremony recognized outstanding performance at the National Grade Six Assessment, National Grade Nine Examinations, Caribbean Secondary Edu-cation Examinations, Carib-bean Advanced Proficiency Examinations and the General Certificate of Education.

PLAY in the Queen’s College (QC) Lower and Upper School Singles badminton tournament continued yesterday with the semi-finals of the Lower and Upper School boys and third place matches for the Lower School girls and Upper School boys.
Nicholas Ali continued his dominance in the upper school boys’ category, as he made quick work of Stephan Greaves in their two-game semi-final match-up; Ali won the match 21-4, 21-11. |

Wooley House captures sixth consecutive title at QC Inter House Champion Ships |

Despite beginning the final day in sixth po sition after Standard Trials , Wooley House, better known as ‘ H’ House, made a dramatic comeback to claim their fifth consecutive ti tle at the Queen’s College ( QC) Inter House Athletic Championships yesterday at the QC ground. H House ( dark green), known for their prowess on the track over the years, ended the day with an impressive 465 points even though they were trailing at the lunch break. Placing second was Nobbs ( L) House ( gold), who won the march past, with 405 points, followed by Raleigh ( B) House ( royal blue) with 360 points, Austin ( C) House ( emerald green) with 328 points and Pilgrim ( E) House ( purple) with 323 points rounded up the top five.
